We are excited to welcome Andrea Foa on board The Floating Showroom who will be running a series of summer workshops to keep your creative juices flowing.
In our ever changing world, individuals as well as companies are becoming increasingly aware that creativity is crucial not only to succeed, but also to survive. This workshop will take you on a journey to the core of every creative impulse: the pleasure of playing.
After a gentle warm, the first part of the workshop consists of games and exercises devised from my performing arts practice. They are fun and energising, inviting people to engage their whole body - the place where our emotions are - and connect as a group. Through playfulness, I create a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages participants to:
-Rediscover and trust their innate creativity
- Explore the power of their self-awareness
- Trust and support each other's intuition
- Thrive in the unknown of the creative process, both individually and collectively
- Celebrate failure and turn it into a trampoline for their next move.
Once in this atmosphere of freedom and collaboration, participants are guided towards the collective, spontaneous creation of a short story. That will be achieved through improvising characters and situations together upon a theme or a provocation chosen by the group.
Andrea Foa is an Italian, London-based performer and theatre maker with a passion for clowning and exploring the territories where performing arts meet healing. After training in physical theatre at the Jacques Lecoq-inspired London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA), Andrea went on to develop his skills in France with clown and playfulness master Philippe Gaulier. Formerly a full-time journalist with some of the top global news organisations, Andrea met theatre in his 30s during a journey of self discovery through Gestalt and Jungian psychotherapy and a variety of experiences in which drama, rituals and movement techniques are the keys to authenticity and meaningful relationships with others.

The Tarot still has an aura of mystery and dodgy mysticism attached to it, but the reality is very different. The Tarot offers us a window into our deepest awareness, so it can often point out concerns that haven't yet become problems; or problems that appear to have no solution. A tarot reader will then interpret the images, giving the client alternative possibilities so the client can decide the solution for themselves. Tarot is not about fortune telling or saying what the future will be, but it does offer a mirror for us to see more clearly.
Readings on the Floating Showroom would last 15 minutes, and offer a light-hearted way to see our lives reflected in a very different mirror. £15
Rosemary will join us on 31st July and 1st August. Rosemary has over 30 years experience in Tarot, Clairvoyance and Mediumship. Her humour and straightforward approach encourages clients to return to her time and time again for the guidance, direction and inspiration her readings provide.
Cilla will join us on 28th and 29th August. Cilla Conway has been working with the Tarot since 1981, when she finished painting her first deck. Since then she has designed two more sets of cards, all of which she uses in her readings. She is a professional reader at Atlantis and Watkins Bookshops in London.
